Enviro Warriors

Our Enviro Warriors met for the first time in March 2013.  We have a very special School Vision and have completed many exciting projects  that:

a)   Will help our learning
b)   Everyone thinks is important
c)   We could actually achieve
d)   Will be sustainable
e)   Will help us be tamariki tiaki - child guardians

A range of different students are involved in different projects ranging from The Wind Garden, The Chicken Team and even raising 1 day old chickens at home.  Watch the changes on the  Enviro - School @ Springston Blog and remember to leave us a comment.

Secret Garden

We have a Secret Garden tucked away at the back of school.  

The Juniors have exciting projects as part of Choice and Challenge while other children have their own allotments which they visit at lunchtimes with the help of teachers and other helpers from the local community.

Our current projects:
  • Maintaining our Chickens at school
  • Planting native trees - MakoMako and other seedlings
  • Germinating and planting native seedlings
  • Maintaining the Worm Farms
  • Litter Free Lunches
  • Class training with 'Waste Busters'
