Equal opportunities
The school has responded to increasing requests by students to be allowed to use digital devices for learning, including bringing their own devices. It is more effective to have devices available when you need them for learning, rather than sometimes waiting hours or even days to engage in this way.
It is vital that all students who opt for BYOD bring their devices for learning EVERY day. Failure to do so makes it very difficult for teachers to plan learning opportunities, especially requiring internet use, when dependent on a limited number of current classroom devices or needing to book or borrow devices from other classrooms.
We intend to continue to provide a small number of chromebooks and iPads to each Year 4-8 class, but our experience over the past 4 years indicates that it is best if students remember to come to school daily with their own device, set up and ready for their own learning, with no issues of needing to log on every time, or have others needing to use the device too.
Please check our list of recommended devices on what you might like to provide as a BYOD device for your child.
